Although I have not had much time to experiment with it yet, there are a few nagging issues that I would like some basic help on. Firstly, I have read through the instructions and tried to use my common sense first before making this post. As of yet, I don't seem to be seeing the results when I load REX, everytime I start the weather is clear blue sky and does not seem to change, do I have to make any changes first in the settings in FS9 before I fly? Also, when I click on the 'Fly now' button once the weather has been loaded, it does not always start up automatically, it seems to be a bit hit and miss. This can be very frustrating when it takes such a long time for all the data and textures to be loaded into FS9 then it doesn't even start up, and yes, my disc is in the PC before anyone asks! All I want is for the moment is to load the real weather conditions into FS9 at my chosen airport and see the results when I fly, but it seems to be causing me a lot of hassle and a lot of wasted time. Can anyone give me some basic sta

I'm using FSX Gold Edition with Acceleration & SDK. I have uninstalled and re-installed REX as administrator, uninstalled my anti-virus, disabled my firewall to no avail.Weather textures are loading into FSX but the weather engine and Weather avoidance don't seem to work and generate the 'unhandled exception' error messages.Any guidance or suggestions appreciated.John.Details:----------------------------------------------------------See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.************** Exception Text **************System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect, Version=10.0.61259.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. REX ERROR Started by Pace Balster, July 6, 2013 REX fsx textures error 10 posts in this topic Pace Balster 0 Ground Staff Members 0 7 posts Posted July 6, 2013 Hello, I just installed REX essential+overdrive and everything works well in the REX interface. I changed the rex weather configuration to C:/Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X  and created a custom texture pack and installed it. The trouble  starts when I try to fly. I go to the main menu on REX and click "i just want to fly". FSX boots up and I go to free flight and choose my plane and location. When I click "fly now" it works but has the regular fsx textures. There is a green bar at the top that says REX is trying to load weather rex weather avoidance data but then an error message pops up in fsx saying it couldn't load weather themes. I click ok and continue flying fsx with the default fsx textures. How do I get REX textures to work? Am I missing something?   Thanks
 brett 999 Mutley Crew Mutley Crew 999 10,013 posts Real Name: Brett Location: PA, USA Posted July 6, 2013 Hi Pace and welcome to the site. I have had REX for a few months now and it was working fine. Now I too am getting the same problem you have described above, it sometimes states that it could not connect with my server too(HTTP Error 503). I checked over at the REX site and there was something about the weather themes should still be loading correctly but the little map thingee is not working and they are working on it. For some reason they closed the thread, I guess so they didn't getting the same complaint over and over. Hopefully someone here has some advice for this situation. I say hopefully but I am pretty confident someone will have the answer, they haven't failed me yet.  Here is the link to the REX thread I mentioned(you will need to log on the site)
 Pace Balster 0 Ground Staff Members 0 7 posts Posted July 6, 2013 Hi Pace and welcome to the site.
