The data in the source table is ssis flat file source error output not consistent enough and hence my package fails very often. Is there a way by which I can transfer all the rows which are giving at the time of inserting them in destination table? For eg. I have 5 rows in Source and out of which 1st and 4th will give error. Now the result should be that 2nd, 3rd and 5th should go in destination but 1st and 4th should be stored in some flat file or a db table. Thanks in

What other options can I try? –Raj Jayaswal Jul 24 '12 at 11:05 | show 2 more comments 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 6 down vote You can create a second OLE DB Destination and direct the red arrow from your Data Conversion task to this destination. Then choose Configure Error Output in your Data Conversion task and choose Redirect row as an option for all Errors/Truncations. Finish the new destination mapping and you're done: data that is correct should now go to your first destination (green arrow) and incorrect data should go to your second destination (red arrow). share|improve this answer answered Jul 24 '12 at 10:51 Josien 2,72532238 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarde

Because the transformation uses the default settings for error output, any error causes the transformation to fail. When the transformation fails, the rest of the package also fails.Instead of permitting the transformation to fail, you can configure the component to redirect the failed row to another processing path by using the error output. Use of a separate error processing path lets you do a number of things. For instance, you might try to clean the data and then reprocess the failed row. Or, you might save the failed row along with additional error information for later verification and reprocessing. In this task, you will c

There is SaleAmount Column that should have only integer (numbers). If somehow the wrong data is provided in that column we do not want to fail the package instead of that we want to redirect those rows to error output. Solution: Different redirect error rows Transformations in SSIS Provide the error output in case the operation cannot be perform on input data. We can redirect error rows from Different sources, transformations and destinations as well. In out example we are using flat file source. Step 1: Create connection to text file by using Flat File Connection Manager. I have used below data for initial testing CountryName,SalePersonName,SaleAmount uSA,aamir shahzad,100 Italy,andy,300 UsA,Mike,500 brazil,Sara,1000 INdia,Neha,200 Brazil,Anna,200 Mexico,Anthony,500 Change the data type to Integer in Flat File Source ( connection Manager) as Shown below Step 2: After choosing the correct data types for the inputs, go to Error Output Table on Left and then configure as shown below Step 3: Include two multicast transformation just to test your package with correct data as given above. All the records will go to Success Output as shown below Step 4: Let's add one more row to input file with wrong SaleAmount Mexico,Anthony,test500 and execute the package. As we can see that the error row is redirect to error output and rest of rows went to success output. SSIS does not provide a column name due to which the row is redirected.Custom Code can be written to find out more details about
