Sharepoint 2010 Error Additions To This Website Have Been Blocked

Tagscentral admin, configure quotas and locks, not locked, site locked Have you ever come across the error message “Additions to this website have been blocked” when you are trying to make any changes additions to this website have been blocked sharepoint 2007 to a WebSite in SharePoint 2010? Resolution: I came across this issue when sharepoint 2013 additions to this web site have been blocked Upgrading SharePoint 2010 Farm with SP1 and August CU.  This necessarily need not be a bug / issue with SP1 / Aug CU. In Central Admin => Goto Application Managent => Site Collections => Configure Quotas and Locks and make sure Lock status is set to “Not Locked” for the web application having the error. Hope it helps 0.000000 0.000000 Share this:LinkedInPrintEmailGoogleFacebookLike this:Like Loading... The databases are locked during backup and a failed backup also fails to release the locks. Good post. - SharePoint 2010 Posted by Robert Kuzma on March 3, 2014 Leave a comment (0) Go to comments Just got a very interesting error in my SharePoint 2010. Not exactly sure how it came to be … but anyways. I was making some PowerShell updates to the site … also restored the site using PowerShell … maybe this left the site locked down eventually. First I could not edit or add anything to my SharePoint 2010 site. I tried to log-out and sign-in again. Than I restarted the server - this also didn't help. Than I tried to change the site https://neelb.wordpress.com/2012/01/18/additions-to-this-web-site-have-been-blocked-sp2010/ collection administrators and I got "Additions to this Web site have been blocked" error. Than I was closer to the solution … had to go actually to Central Administration > Application Management > Site Collections > Configure quotas and locks and change the "Lock status" for the site to Not locked.
